Lynda Carter would like director Zack Snyder’s vision of Wonder Woman to go a little deeper than a tough heroine.
During an interview with Vulture, the former Diana Prince was asked what she envisioned for Gal Gadot’s character in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Carter explained what makes Wonder Woman unique is her personality.
"Wonder Woman is about a lot more than just superhero stuff. She’s complicated," Carter said. "Ultimately, she’s about truth, and it’s all heart with her. She’s a strong female force."
She added, "I think females baffle men, and so, that’s made it difficult to get a Wonder Woman movie made. She’s strong, but she’s so much more — not everybody gets that ... Most important, I want her to have a heart and a strong sense of humor.”
Carter has also shared her thoughts on Gadot’s new costume. The former Wonder Woman actress admitted to Access Hollywood back in August she would have liked to see more or the red, white and blue color on Gadot’s armor.
“Maybe there's a lot more color in it than what we saw in the picture,” Carter said, adding she’s reserving judgment until she sees the costumes on the big screen. “It's almost impossible to play a superhero anyway. You can't. You just have to play a character that happens to do these amazing things.”
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Amy Adams will be released to theaters on March 25, 2016.
