The Philadelphia Eagles didn't exactly limp into their bye, but it does sound like the week off allowed several key players, including running back/receiver/returner/bowling ball Darren Sproles, to rest, relax and heal, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News.
Sproles, along with center Jason Kelce (hernia), linebacker Mychal Kendricks (calf) and running back Chris Polk (hamstring), returned for the light practice on Tuesday.
Sproles wouldn't say whether or not he was ready to go for this weekend's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, but intimated that he probably could if need be.
"The way I'm feeling, yeah," Sproles said. But he also told Bowen he wants to get in a full, real practice Wednesday and see how his knee responds before making any type of definitive statements.
Sproles was originally injured during the Eagle's Sunday night game against the New York Giants when the Giants' defensive tackle Markus Kuhn grabbed Sproles by the shoulders from behind and rolled him backwards, bending him awkwardly over his knee.
Sproles suffered an MCL strain, but at the time was worried that something much worse had happened.
"I was," Sproles said, per Bowen. "But I got an MRI (the next day), said I was all right. So I'm good."
Kendricks hasn't played since Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, Kelce underwent surgery to repair an abdominal tear after a Week 3 game against the Redskins, and Polk hasn't taken the field since Week 4.
"They'll run around here today, and we'll make some decisions," Kelly said, per Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Eagles don't seem in any rush to get these players back to full speed. They're taking it especially slow with Kelce.
"He's just coming off the surgery, so I hope he ties his shoes right and put him in individuals and see what he can do," Kelly told Berman.
Guard Evan Mathis and wide receiver Brad Smith were the only players not to take part in today's practice.
