Nine Inch Nails: New Album and Tour Announced Along With New Single (Video)

There's nothing worse than having one of your favorite bands hang up their instruments or stop playing together. Today is a lucky day for all Nine Inch Nails fans that had to go through this in 2009. Giving fans their first taste of new music in five years, industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails has announced a new album.

The album is called Hesitation Marks and it is expected to come out on Sept. 3. The band released a new single Wednesday night called "Came Back Haunted" breaking their streak of silence since their 2009 "Wave Goodbye Tour." The song, featured below, is just the tip of the iceberg of the new album.

The LA Times reported frontman Trent Reznor will co-produce the new album with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder. It will reportedly be a followup to 2008's "The Slip." The band includes Reznor, Robin Finck, Adrian Belew, Allessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis and Ilan Rubin.

The new album isn't the only major announcement from the band today. Starting on July 26, the band will take to the stage once again at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival. This will be the official kickoff concert to Nine-Inch Nails newest tour titled "Nine Inch Nails: Tension 2013," which will include Lollapalooza, Reading Festival and Jay-Z's Made in America Festival. Dates for the tour are posted below courtesy of USA Today. Tickets go on sale June 14.

"Tension picks up where Lights in the Sky left off," Reznore said in a new press release. "This is the full-on NIN live experience realized as we never could before."

The L.A.-based band announced on Wednesday a series of North American arena dates beginning on September 28 in St. Paul, Minn. Below is a video of the band's newest single "Came Back Haunted" courtesy of Vevo. Also below is a full list of the band's tour dates as they are scheduled right now.
