Just because a prediction is boring doesn't mean it isn't going to be correct.
NBA.com's survey of league general managers revealed that the San Antonio Spurs are the consensus pick to repeat as NBA champions, while LeBron James is the favorite to win the MVP award.
NBA general managers answered 56 questions and were not permitted to vote for their own players or team.
The Spurs were chosen to win the championship with 46.2 percent of votes. Second-place Cleveland Cavaliers finished with just 15.4 percent of votes. The picks have been accurate in the past, as the Miami Heat received 75.9 percent of votes to win the championship in 2013.
LeBron James was also the clear-cut favorite to win yet another MVP trophy this season. James received 67.9 percent of votes. Should he win, it would be his fifth MVP award. Kevin Durant came in second with 21.4 percent of the votes after claiming his first MVP award last season. However, Durant will miss the first 15-20 games due to a fracture in his right foot.
James' return to Cleveland received 42.9 percent of votes as the most surprising off-season move, and also contributed to Cleveland (89.3) being voted as the team to make the best off-season moves.
The Milwaukee Bucks' Jabari Parker received 75 percent of the votes to win rookie of the year this season. Minnesota Timberwolves' rookie and top overall pick Andrew Wiggins finished a distant second with 17.9 percent.
