Chicago Bears NEWS: Brandon Marshall Denies Beef With Jay Cutler, ‘We’re Great’

Following Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Marshall reportedly called out quarterback Jay Cutler. Marshall, though, dismissed the report and insisted he and Cutler are on great terms.

Chicago's 27-14 loss at home dropped them to 3-4, and the frustration apparently boiled over afterwards in the locker room. While nobody denied Marshall had some choice words for his teammates, there's apparently no rift between him and Cutler.

"I have a really nice condo. And guess what? Jay Cutler built that condo," Marshall said on Inside The NFL, via Pro Football Talk. "We're great. We're great. You know, we're like brothers. I think Coach (Marc) Trestman said it the best. But if I have a problem with Jay Cutler, I'm going to go to Jay Cutler. If Jay Cutler has a problem with me, he's going to come to me. We have that type of relationship."

Trestman dismissed the reported rift earlier in the week, characterizing the relationship between Marshall and Cutler as "brotherly."

ESPN's Michael C. Wright originally reported Marshall had called out Cutler after the loss.

"Yelling could be heard from outside the double doors, and a source said receiver Brandon Marshall called out quarterback Jay Cutler," Wright wrote Sunday. "The source said there 'are some very selfish individuals in the locker room.' But it's not out of the ordinary for Marshall to strongly voice his opinion to Cutler, as the two are close friends off the field."

Cutler had an interception and a lost fumble on Sunday. While opponents have now scored 37 points off Cutler's turnovers this season, Marshall didn't publically blame Cutler when speaking to the media on Sunday.

"OK, were you in here?" Marshall said, via ESPN. "Were you in the locker room? This is a team matter. That has nothing to do with you. There's a lot of guys this means a lot to. We're 3-4. We need to play better. That's unacceptable. That's unacceptable. Unacceptable; shouldn't have lost today, shouldn't be 3-4. [The] offense [has] got to play better. It's as simple as that."
