Sarah Palin, former Republican vice presidential candidate, criticized those who she referred to as "fake feminists" and liberal women who back government programs intended on keeping women dependent on the state - as well as look down upon conservative women - when she appeared on Fox News' "Hannity" on Tuesday, WND Politics reported.
Journalist Tina Brown's statements that President Barack Obama doesn't make women feel safe inspired Hannity's interview questions and prompted Palin's responses. Palin said Brown's comments were "ironic, because that little lady Tina Brown, she's such a big part of the problem; she and her ilk being so uber-uppity, so cocksure of their untouchable elitism, they support liberal men who have kept women unfortunately embracing this lie that they should be dependent upon government."
Sean Hannity pointed to how he feels that liberals often ignore the abuse of Islamic women, even though they try to seem like a compassionate group, the Daily Caller reported.
"They make a big deal about Mitt Romney having women's resumes in binders, but you hear very little from the left about radical Islam and ISIS and the treatment of women under Sharia," he said.
Palin doubled - down on her comments following Hannity, saying that "fake feminist" liberal women support the president's policies that have kept one in five families on food stamps, 44 million Americans underemployed and a surge in "latchkey" children.
"These maladroit fake feminist women, they have such a double standard, so hypocritical, that they would support anyone who would have sympathy for Muslims who do treat women so poorly, so inhumanely, and not do all that they can to stop the rise of radical Islam that would adversely affect America's interests," Palin said. "...These women, their sympathies are aligned in the wrong party."
