Michigan Teen Tries To Kill Family On Boyfriend's Advice

A 15-year-old Michigan girl stabbed her younger brother multiple times in the throat during a plan to kill her whole family, while her 23-year-old boyfriend texted instructions from outside the house, Detroit Free Press reported on Wednesday.

Roksana Sikorski and her boyfriend, Michael Rivera, hatched a plan to kill Sikorski's two younger siblings and her parents so they could be together.

Sikorski was charged as an adult with one count of assault with intent to murder and four counts of conspiracy to commit murder. River received the same charge, with the addition of one count of felonious assault, MLive reported.

The incident began at about 2 a.m. on Friday. Sikorski was in the house, being prepped by Rivera as he sent her instructions and pictures via text message. Sikorski then stabbed her 12-year-old brother, whose screams for help woke family members, foiling the murder plot, according to authorities.

The boy underwent surgery at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor and in expected to fully recovery.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said its very uncommon for kids so young to be tried as adults, but this case is different.

"However, the alleged facts in this case strongly warrant this decision," she said in a statement. "The alleged actions of this defendant and her co-defendant, to conspire to kill her entire family, are truly haunting."

The parents are said to be very worried about their daughter and are extremely distressed.

Similar cases have occurred over the years, including Tia Skinner, now 21, who was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her father when she was 18.
