Tim Tebow News: Belichick Doesn't Hate QB, Chance With Patriots?

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick allegedly told a source in May he hated Tim Tebow as a player. It apparently never happened. Belichick dismissed the report on Thursday as "completely untrue," ESPN reports.

"Every single player has strengths and weaknesses but regardless of that, for anyone to have represented that is the way I feel about Tim Tebow is completely untrue, baseless and irresponsible," Belichick told ESPN. "It is unfortunate that something so inaccurate was reported."

Yahoo! Sports cited a Patriots "organizational source" as claiming Belichick hated Tebow as a player and there was "no chance" of New England ever signing him. In typical Belichickian fashion, the coach wouldn't confirm or deny whether the Patriots are interested in the free agent quarterback.

"I wouldn't want to get into the probability of us pursuing any free agent," Belichick said.

Prior to the report, Tebow had been linked to New England as a possible destination because of his relationship to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. McDaniels, then the head coach for the Denver Broncos, drafted Tebow in 2010 with the No. 25 pick.

Tebow remains a free agent. Contrary to an ESPN article, Tebow has no plans to give up playing in the NFL.
