All six bodies mysteriously discovered at the bottom of an Oklahoma lake have been identified by the state Medical Examiner's Office, Kfor reported on Wednesday.
A 1952 Chevrolet and a blue 1969 Chevrolet Camaro were found in Foss Lake after authorities were testing sonar equipment on Sept. 17. 2013. Six bodies and two vehicles were pulled from the water.
DNA tests confirmed the six people found in the cars, long lost beneath the lake's surface.
The remains from the 1952 Chevrolet were found to have belonged to Cleburn Hammack, 42, from Sayre, O.K., John Alva Porter, 69, from Elk City, O.K. and Nora Marie Duncan, 58, from Canute, O.K.
Inside the blue 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, a much younger group was found: Jimmy Allen Williams, 16, Michael Rios, 18, and Leah Gail Johnson, 18, all from Sayre, O.K.
The three Sayre teenagers went missing in 1970 after going for a ride through town in the blue Camaro. Williams bought the car, which he and his friends were all fans of at the time, just six days before the disappearance, CNN reported.
The group was going to attend a football game the night they disappeared, but may have changed their minds and gone hunting instead, according to Dayva Spitzer, publisher of The Sayre Record & Beckham County Democrat newspaper. Two rusted and water-damaged rifles were also pulled from the car.
Porter, Duncan and Hammack in the other car vanished in 1969 after they got help to get their car started, according a newspaper article from the same year.
