Montgomery Gentry: Troy Gentry’s Wife Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

In a recent HNGN exclusive interview, Eddie Montgomery declared, "I hope that one day we will stomp that big C-word out. Maybe someday you'll be able to go in and get something as simple as a shot to prevent or cure cancer, but until that day, let's keep making strides."

Now the wife of Montgomery's duo partner, Troy Gentry, will be counting on those strides. Gentry announced on Facebook that his wife, Angie, had been diagnosed with breast cancer. He shared that Angie is currently undergoing chemo treatments and that her prognosis looks good.

Earlier this month, Montgomery Gentry created their own breast cancer awareness project centered on their song "Headlights." The project was a special bundle being offered by GhostTunes that includes Montgomery Gentry's new hit single and a "Check Your Headlights" t-shirt. All profits from the bundle sales will be donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an American Cancer Society initiative.

At the time their project was announced, Gentry commented, "It was just a no-brainer to put this bundle together to help bring awareness and help raise some money for a great cause through the American Cancer Society. Being married and having two daughters, breast cancer is something that's always in the back of your mind."

In the HNGN interview, Montgomery - who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010 - stated, "T-Roy and I have been together a long time, and we always have each other's back. Hell, me and Troy have known each other longer than we've known our wives."

No doubt Montgomery will continue to have his long-time friend's back, as Gentry and Angie go through this difficult time.
