Fans may get a “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” teaser sooner than expected.
Batman-on-Film reports the film’s first trailer may premiere some time in November or December of this year. The production allegedly has the first trailer ready to go and it will focus on the Batman’s addition to the newest DC franchise.
“I have no idea to which specific film it may be ‘attached,’ but New Line’s (which is Warner Bros.’ sister company) ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ is being released on December 17, 2014,” according to Batman-on-Film.
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and Jesse Eisenberg is scheduled for a March 25, 2016 release date.
Little is known about the “Batman vs. Superman” plot, but Affleck recently opened up about the production during an interview with MTV News back in September. The actor was promoting his hit film “Gone Girl” at the time, but took a moment to answer Batman questions.
Affleck assured MTV News "Batman vs. Superman" director Zack Snyder’s vision for the film was heavily influenced by the DC Comics, especially the “Dark Knight Returns.”
“I will say that I think Zack was heavily influenced by that ['Dark Knight Returns'],” Affleck told MTV. “I think everyone’s heavily influenced by that. It’s the seminal work, right? I don’t think there’s any of these [Batman movies] that have been made without drawing from that book because it’s so good. And I think if you’re smart, you steal from the best.”
Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy was also influenced by the same comic book, and became one of the most successful superhero franchises in history.
