Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar continues to get attention in the MMA world, with UFC president Dana White saying he's open to the current WWE star making a return at 100 percent.
While Lesnar and White continue to talk regularly, White says Lesnar has yet to bring up the idea of coming back to the Octagon, according to UFC.com. However, White says that a return is still a possibility.
"I have a great relationship with Brock, we talk all the time," White said. "I don't know, we'll see. If he wants to fight, he knows my number."
Lesnar's battle with diverticulitis, which involved several procedures and was categorized at one point by doctors as life-threatening, resulting in his MMA career coming to end, MMAjunkie reported.
The former heavyweight would lose his last two fights in the UFC, dropping the belt to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121 in 2010 and then losing to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in 2011. He would then announce his retirement from MMA before returning to the WWE.
White is not the only one who thinks Lesnar could make a comeback, UFC.com reported. Jim Ross, former WWE play-by-play announcer and friend of Lesnar's, told Fox Sports earlier this month he could possibly return to the UFC in 2015.
"It looks to me like he's gotten back on track," Ross said. "He looks phenomenal strength-wise. He's just scary looking. He's more scary looking than he was before he left [WWE the first time]. ... I see no reason he couldn't have the potential to return to the UFC and sell pay-per-views."
The idea of Lesnar coming back has already been discussed among other competitors in the UFC, with former heavyweight champions Frank Mir and Shane Carwin saying they would like to take on Lesnar in his first fight back.
"It's pretty amazing what he did and accomplished here while having diverticulitis," White said. "It would be interesting to see a 100 percent healthy Brock Lesnar compete."
