In a surprise move, Drake released three new tracks to coincide with his birthday on Oct. 24, Enstarz reported.
The Young Money rapper wanted to share with his friends the glory he felt in turning 28 after celebrating with songwriter and actress Rita Ora at a New York City Dave and Busters. He dropped the three songs on his website, Ovosound.com
Boi-1da had influence on the tracks, and had his hand in both "How Bout Now" with Jordan Evans and "6 God" with Syk Sense. "Heat of the Moment," which slows things down and focusing on Drake's vocals, is a collaboration with music producer Noah "40" Shebib, owner of OVO Sound, Pitchfork reported.
On Saturday, Drake wrote to 17 million followers on Tweeter that "you should probably keep an eye on that hovosound.com in the next hour..just saying.."
He then posted a link to his account 15 minutes later, but later Saturday evening, said "that wasn't an EP. Just 3 songs that I knew some hackers had. But enjoy! Back to this album."
The songs were allegedly leaked behind Drake's back last week, Direct Lyrics reported.
The "Worst Behavior" rapper's next solo album, Views From The 6, is expected to be released in the spring of 2015. It's not certain whether these tracks will be featured on the full-length album.
