Experimental Dropbox Build To Include Auto-Save Screenshots, 'Move To Dropbox' and iPhoto Import

Dropbox, popular cloud storage and file management service, released a preview build for the Mac, which has four new features including auto-save screenshots and iPhoto import.

Dropbox released an experimental build of its forthcoming 2.3.12 desktop client for the Mac with four new features. But the company is yet to confirm the addition of these features into Dropbox permanently.

The preview of the latest build features was posted on The DropBox Forums by David.E. It has auto-save screenshots to Dropbox, "Move to Dropbox" option, easy importing from iPhoto and faster upload and download speeds for larger files.

The experimental build gives users a feel of what to expect from the next update from Dropbox and the company gets a feedback too.

The first DropBox feature is a tool that automatically saves a screenshot to a specific folder in a user's Dropbox. It also copies the link of the screenshot and saves it on the OS X clipboard, which can help in easy sharing.

Dropbox preview build also includes "Move to Dropbox" option, which is in the contextual menus in OS X. A new option, "Move to Dropbox" will appear when a user right clicks or command-clicks on a file or a folder. Users can directly move an item of almost any file type to the Dropbox with this option. The option may not appear if the automatic sharing is enabled.

With the experimental build, users can also use the "Import from iPhoto" feature, which synchronizes the local iPhoto libraries with the Dropbox account. The latest feature only functions with iPhoto 7.0 or higher on Macs.

Finally, the preview build offers faster upload and download speeds for larger files, which can be useful for people who edit and sync files frequently.

The experimental Dropbox build is available for download from a direct link or can be downloaded from The Dropbox Forums.
