Green Bay overcame a 1-2 start and the questions that came with it to go on and win four straight games. The play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been a big part of those four wins, throwing for 977 yards, 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions over that span. For everybody in the Packers locker room, the stellar performance hasn't been surprising.
"It's funny. I talk to old friends who have been here and are with other teams, and they don't really realize how good Aaron is until they go and play for someone else," said Packers guard Josh Sitton, via ESPN. "It's hard to realize, I guess,
when he's all I've known. I expect that week in and week out."
New Orleans, though, presents a different challenge. Especially as the Packers travel to the Super Dome to play the 2-4 Saints, who're desperate for a win.
"I would like to think our whole team clearly understands we're getting ready to go into a hotbox down there in New Orleans," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "I mean, this is going to be a big-time environment, big-time game. These are the kind of games you love to play in. Everybody wants to go get this one and get to 6-2, especially after where we were four weeks ago."
The Saint's haven't been able to find their stride this season and have yet to win back-to-back games. New Orleans is coming off a 24-23 loss at Detroit, where the Drew Brees-led Saints gave up another fourth quarter lead and failed to close out the game.
"We did a lot of good things and yet, we have to finish. We have to finish, especially today," Brees said Sunday. "It's not like this thing was back and forth. We had a 13-point lead with however much time was left."
