London visitors board the bus at Victoria Station for "The Making of Harry Potter Tour" at Warner Bros. Studios. The Georgian House hotel took advantage of its close proximity to the bus stop and created Hogwarts-inspired rooms to attract those "Harry Potter" fans, according to The Independent.
The 163-year-old property added trunks, potion bottles, cauldrons and ddspell books to the wizard chambers. A night's stay cost £249 ($400) or a special package deal for £363 (nearly $584). The extra cost includes a walking tour of central London, where visitors can see famous landmarks that appeared in the films, and a ticket for the Warner Bros.'s behind-the-scenes set tour.
"The Georgian House Hotel places great emphasis on welcoming families and I really wanted to create something fun for young visitors," Serena von der Heyde, partner at The Georgian House, told The Independent. "When guests arrive we light candles and play music as they enter the Wizard Chambers - it's a great way to give families a unique stay."
The Hogwarts rooms have attracted many different "Harry Potter" fans that want to relive the magic of the books and movies.
"I have been overwhelmed by the number of young couples coming to stay in them, perhaps drawn by the nostalgia of their youth with the Harry Potter series," Heyde said.
The tour at Warner Bros. Studios in London features the still-standing sets of The Great Hall, Dumbledore's office, Diagon Alley and the Gryffindor common room. The backlot also includes the triple-decker purple Knight Bus, Privet Drive and Hogwarts Bridge.
Visitors can also enjoy a cup of Butterbeer on the tour, one of only two places in the world that sells the beverage favorite, according to the U.K. Warner Bros. Studios website. "Harry Potter" fans got their first taste of the foaming drink at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter when it opened in 2010 at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Fla.
