All good things must come to an end, and Sunday night (Oct. 26) HBO aired the very last episode of "Boardwalk Empire." According to Deadline.com, around 2.3 million people tuned in for the fast-paced series finale.
The show featured flashbacks to help fans piece together the final episode which included several deaths and a few happy endings.

In "Eldorado," Nucky is murdered in the last few minutes of the series. He's approached by "Joe Harper" who turns out to be Gillian's grandson, Tommy Darmody. According to the Huffington Post, Tommy shoots Nucky three times, making sure he's dead.
The finale also showed Al Capone turning himself in for tax-evasion charges but not before he had an emotional goodbye with his son. Narcisse is also killed, in "Eldorado." The character only appeared in one scene, which turned out to be his last.
After giving a sermon, Narcisse heads outside the church where he's approached by two men from Lucky Luciando's camp. In happier "Boardwalk Empire" news, Gillian's life was spared on the finale but he's locked away in a mental institution while Eli inherits a large sum of money from his brother, Nucky.
