Ariana Grande, Pharrell Williams and Maroon 5 are some of the musicians eyed for the upcoming holiday special, A Very Grammy Christmas, airing on Dec. 5 on CBS, Billboard reported on Saturday.
The acts will perform holiday songs and the newest hits, along with tales of favorite holiday moments and how it feels to be nominated for a Grammy. More artists are expected to be announced soon.
Nominations for the 2015 Grammy Awards Album of the Year will be announced during the hour - long special, with further nominations announced the morning of Dec. 5. The Grammys will take place on Feb. 8 in Los Angeles.
The method for announcing nominees this year is a move away from the tradition of debuting them during a live nominations concert.
"Given the modest overall ratings for the special and logistical challenges of coordinating the live announcement, it's understood that Recording Acad and CBS execs decided to try a different route this year and capitalize on the holiday timing of the news," Variety reported.
A Very Grammy Christmas will be taped on Nov. 18 before airing two weeks later.
