Fans of "Orange is the New Black" are in for a big surprise when the show returns to Netflix next year. According to TMZ, the psychotic villain Queen Vee (played by Lorraine Toussaint) could make an appearance at Litchfield prison again.
In the Season 2 finale, Vee was hit by a car driven by Rosa (Barbara Rosenblat) but it wasn't clear if the hit-and-run killed her. Sources close to the show told TMZ that Toussaint was expected to be in New York City on Tuesday, Oct. 28 to film for Season 3.
It's not yet known whether Vee survived the crash or if the character will appear in a flashback. A few months ago, during an interview with The Daily Beast, Toussaint teased that fans might not have seen the last of her character.
"Is Vee dead? Is she not? Is Vee dead? She's a survivor. You never know. It's Jenji Kohan, so you never know," Toussaint said.
She also talked about what it was like playing the villain of Season 2 pointing out that a lot of fans loved watching the character because she's not just a crazed sociopath but also has a maternal side.
"She has a desire to be a lot of things. One of the qualities of a sociopath is that they are very good mimics," she said. "They are really good emotional mimics, and sometimes it's very difficult to tell what's actually part of their wiring with a certain level of emotional mimicry. That was why I had to walk with her, because one of the things that is so complicated is that she can believe her acting so well at times that it doesn't feel like acting. So is it not acting, or is it acting? As a character. And then I'm acting a character who's always acting!"
Details on the new season have been scarce but Natasha Lyonne (Nicky Nichols) told People magazine in July that fans should expect "so much bloodshed" in Season 3.
