A man in good health vanished without a trace during a Denver Bronco's game last week, and relatives are searching for an answer why, News OK reported on Tuesday.
Paul Kitterman, 53, has been missing since he left his seat to meet friends during halftime at the Thursday night game at the Sports Authority Field. His stepson, Jarod Tonneson, looked through the stadium and filed a missing persons report with the police. He also checked local hospitals and detox centers.
"We just don't know what else to do," Tonneson told The Associated Press on Monday. "Paul is a simple guy, he doesn't like technology, he doesn't get into drama. He's just an easygoing guy."
Kitterman and his stepson trekked over 100 miles to the stadium after a friend asked if they wanted tickets to the game. It was Kitterman's first time at the stadium, and as they hurried to hit the road, Kitterman realized he forgot his cell phone, credit cards and didn't have much cash on him.
But Tonneson said his stepfather had memorized the phone numbers of friends and family members, making it easy for him to contact someone even without his cell phone. He had about five beers in a four - hour span and wouldn't have been intoxicated, MSN reported.
Investigators said they don't suspect foul play was involved and are helping the family in their search. But Tonneson is stumped as to where Kitterman could have gone.
"He wouldn't just take off, you know?" Tonneson said. "He wouldn't leave me there."
