Amanda Bynes will be remaining in a Pasadena, Calif., psychiatric center for another month after her doctors requested that a judge grant them an extension. The 28-year-old troubled actress was supposed to be released from Las Encinas Hospital on Monday, Oct. 27, but her doctors feel Bynes is in no shape to be released, TMZ reports.
Sources told the site that her doctors told a judge that Bynes is still "very ill" and asked for a 30-day extension on her psychiatric hold. The judge granted the extension. The former Nickelodeon star was first admitted on Oct. 10 after displaying odd behavior.
She was arrested for a DUI, accused of shoplifting and tweeted that her father Rick Bynes allegedly sexually assaulted her. At first, she was placed on a 72-hour hold but it was extended for another two weeks on Oct. 13, E! News reports.
TMZ reports that it's not clear if Bynes' parents will be seeking another conservatorship. Rick and Lynn Bynes had one issued last year after their daughter's first stint in a psychiatric center but it expired in September of this year.
Days after the conservatorship ended, the young actress started acting out again. Sources told TMZ that Rick and Lynn were considering getting a second conservatorship but they're not sure it would do any good. Bynes is extremely mad at her parents for tricking her into getting help.
Last month, Bynes' parents, their attorney Tamar Arminak and Britney Spears' former manager Sam Lufti, also a friend of Bynes', got the actress to fly back to Los Angeles from New York. They then had her involuntarily committed to Las Encinas Hospital, where she remains.
