These past few days seem to be all Mighty Marvel, all the time. The House of Ideas is certainly churning out the product, and leaving no IP's unturned as of late.
To that end, an extended version of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" trailer that leaked out last week aired last night after the latest "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." episode.
This new version starts off with a rather humorous scene of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in repose and each taking a whack at lifting Thor's hammer, Mjölnir, with little success.
Steve Rogers/Captain America does manage to move it a tiny bit, much to the Thunder God's surprise. The little soiree is then interrupted by the prototype Ultron...and the rest of the trailer is essentially what was presented last week. Take a look for yourself here:
I have to say that each time I watch this, I get chills due to the brilliantly effective use of Pinocchio's "I Got No Strings" song/motif. I don't think I've seen a better juxtaposition of music and images in a trailer/commercial since Microsoft's original "Gears of War" commercial in 2006. That one still manages to give me chills as well.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is set to overrun theaters on May 1, 2015. And in the immortal words of Terrell Owens, "Get your popcorn ready..."
