Want a body like Beyonce? Then why not purchase workout dear designed by the singer?
Women's Wear Daily announced that the "Single Ladies" singer has partnered with British apparel brand Topshop to design an athletic wear line. The partners will launch a 50/50 joint venture that will create a "global athletic streetwear brand," set to launch in 2015.
The joint company will be called Parkwood Topshop Athletic, and will include clothing, footwear and accessories for dance, fitness and sports-related activities.
"I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with their development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting and I'm looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership," the singer said of her new project.
Sir Philip Green, Topshop's owner, also expressed his excitement in a statement, saying, "We have been looking at this category as fashion-inspired fitness develops, and know that this is right in our customers' heartland. Creating a partnership with Beyonce, one of the most hardworking and talented people in the world, who spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing and training is a unique opportunity to develop this category."
In an interview with Women's Wear Daily, Green said his newly formed partnership is "about building a brand and building a business-a separate, proper business, with separate overhead and a separate office."
Green will reportedly hire a separate team to manage the singer's activewear line. Beyonce has been seen wearing pieces made from the company, including several crop tops and shirtdress.
