Paul Kitterman, the man who disappeared from a Denver Broncos game five days ago, has been found safe after walking 112 miles, WGNTV reported on Tuesday.
He turned up in Pueblo, Colo., and police say there's nothing to suggest that he was involved in a crime.
A tip came in about Kitterman's location from the ex-wife of a friend, who said she picked him up at a Salvation Army in Pueblo and brought him to a hotel. Police said they don't plan on filing any charges and feels that since he's an adult, he can run off to another town if he wants to, according to NBC Bay Area.
"He's a grown man. If that's what he wants to do, he can do it," Pueblo police Sgt. Franklyn Ortega said.
Before he was found, Kitterman vanished while waiting outside the bathroom at Sports Authority Field during a Broncos vs. San Diego Charges game. He had traveled more than 100 miles with his stepson, Jarod Tonneson, after a friend offered them tickets to the game. Two other friends sat in another section.
One of Kitterman's friends said he doesn't usually behave this way, was not intoxicated and doesn't have a history of mental health issues.
Kitterman didn't have any credit cards on him, forgot his cell phone at home and had about $50 in cash on him.
"Paul is the best guy you could ask for. They don't make them like Paul anymore," said Tia Bakke, who was first introduced to Kitterman through her boyfriend, who has known him for a decade.
On a Facebook page set up to help find the man, the family said they are requesting privacy even though they understand that people have many questions.
"We love all of you and we will never forget your kindness, compassion and your willingness to help find Paul," they said.
