Those looking forward to getting their Amazon Fire TV Sticks in time for the holidays will be disappointed to hear that they will have to wait an extra two months to get the new dongle.
The e-commerce site announced Wednesday that shipping for the streaming device has been pushed back to Jan. 16, shortly after saying the items would be sent out on Nov. 19th, according to CNET. The reason for the change, whether it is supply shortages or high demand, has yet to be revealed.
The Fire TV Stick, which debuted on Monday, allows users to watch their favorite TV shows and movies and listen to their favorite songs from different streaming services by connecting to an HDMI port on the back of a TV set. These services include Netflix, Hulu Plus, A&E, Spotify, Vevo, and Amazon Prime Instant Video.
Users will also be able to play video games with Amazon's new streaming device, GeekWire reported.
Features of the Fire TV Stick include a dual-core processor, 8GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and Wi-Fi compatibility. The device also comes with a remote that allows you to control the device with your voice with a companion Android or iPhone app.
Consumers can pre-order the Fire TV Stick now for $39, CNET reported.
Amazon has yet to respond to a request to comment.
