'Game of Thrones' Writer George R.R. Martin's Knowledge Of His Saga Challenged By Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers (WATCH)

Amy Poehler helped “Late Night” host Seth Meyers test George R.R. Martin’s knowledge of his own “Game of Thrones” with a hilarious trivia game.

Poehler and Meyers read “quotes” from “A Song of Fire and Ice” saga and asked the writer to name the character that spoke the words. Some of the quotes were actually from the novels while others were just Poehler and Meyers poking fun at the series.

Martin is currently promoting his lastest “Game of Thrones” related book, “A World of Fire and Ice.” The novel is meant to detail the history of Westeros and be a companion to his “A Song of Fire and Ice” saga.

The author is currently working on his sixth saga installment, “Winds of Winter.” Martin recently spoke about his writing process to a Santa Fe Independent Film Festival crowd.

He explained to fans his slow progress doesn’t have anything to do with “writer's block” and wants them to bear with him as he works to complete books.

"Writer's block isn't to blame here, it's distraction. In recent years, all of the work I've been doing creates problems because it creates distraction,” Martin explained. “Because the books and the show are so popular I have interviews to do constantly. I have travel plans constantly. It's like suddenly I get invited to travel to South Africa or Dubai, and who's passing up a free trip to Dubai?”

“I don't write when I travel. I don't write in hotel rooms. I don't write on airplanes. I really have to be in my own house undisturbed to write. Through most of my life no body did bother me, but now everyone bothers me every day. I have assistants and minions whose main job is to make sure people don't bother me so I can actually get writing done."

Martin is reportedly aiming to end his “A Song of Fire and Ice” saga within seven novels.
