On the heels of the E3 Expo, Sony doesn't seem to be slowing down when it comes to unveiling game titles for its newest console.
Sony Online Entertainment announced Thursday in a press release that the company will launch "DC Universe Online," "PlanetSide 2" and reportedly "Warframe" for PlayStation 4 (PS4).
DC Universe Online is about Lex Luthor traveling back in time with news of a grim future, and sets off a device that will give super powers to thousands of citizens to give humanity a chance to survive. Players must choose a mentor and decide whether their character will be good or evil In the word of Metropolis or Gotham City.
"For the first time, players and fans will be able to enter the DC Universe as an active force for good or evil," said the company in the press release. "A massively multiplayer experience, 'DC Universe Online' delivers unparalleled high-energy, physics-powered combat that brings the player's extraordinary powers to life."
According to reports, "PlanetSide 2" has multiplayer battles, massive continents where heavy ground and air combat ensues. ThinkDigit.com said the game offers a fantastic first-person shooter experience "with insane warfare, massive community and loads of customization."
"Players join one of three Empires - Terran Republic, New Conglomerate or Vanu Sovereignty - to fight in an epic war for ultimate control and territory domination," said Sony in their press statement. "With advanced technology, years of gamer feedback, and SOE's new proprietary MMO game engine 'ForgeLight,' 'PlanetSide 2' offers a truly competitive and visceral FPS experience with massive warfare, massive customization and massive community."
The last game of Sony has reportedly confirmed for the PS4 is "Warframe." The game is a third person sci-fi shooter from game publisher Digital Extremes that involves missions where up to four players can work together to complete the quest.
Sony has barely hit the surface of what they plan on showcasing during E3, one of the largest annual trade fairs for the computer and video gaming industry.
According to reports, Sony plans to preview 40 new games at the expo: "Beyond: Two Souls," "Destiny, DriveClub," "The Evil Within," "Gran Turismo 6," "Infamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall," "The Last of Us," "Tearaway, Wolfenstein: The New Order," and many more titles.
Fans of DC Comics will likely be enticed to purchase the PS4 with the release of DC Universe Online, but will all 40 new releases be enough to make the PS4 a hit?
