Youngest Computer Consultant Is 5-Years-Old

Starting school is usually a big mile-stone in the life of a 5-year-old child, however, Ayan Qureshi accomplished a bit more than that before his sixth birthday.

Qureshi recently passed the exam at Birmingham University to become a Microsoft Computer Specialist (MCP), a test usually taken by aspiring IT technicians just before or after attending college.

The 5-year-old's love for computers was inspired by his father, Asim Qureshi, who is an IT consultant, reports Independent.

"It took months for him to become an MCP, but he enjoys computers so it was a fun few months," the young technician's father tells Independent. "He was first curious about how the computer actually works, and what a network was. I answered his questions, and then when he kept saying how interested he was, I explained to him the theory in as simple terms as possible. He found it difficult, but he's very smart and he really loves technology."

Not only is he fascinated with the technology, Qureshi also has a knack for working with them with his tiny hands.

Last month, he successfully created a computer network, connecting two PCs, two laptops, one switch and a router, and configured Windows 8 and 8.1, reports Independent.

Qureshi says he learns from training videos and his father's advice.

The boy tells Independent that his goal is to become an IT consultant or a mathematician, although he is open to trying new things.
