Dyson has brought its new cordless vacuum cleaner to Asia, claiming it can suck up anything from fine dust or large pieces of cereal and cat litter.
The new vacuum, called the Fluffy DC74, is able to clean up all kinds of debris, thanks to a new type of roller head, according to CNET. Instead of pushing away debris it can't pick up, the Fluffy rolls over them and maintains pressure so it can suck up material.
Standard vacuums often suck up larger material and push away those that it can't suck up, while the Fluffy's carbon fiber brush head is designed to reduce static that causes the dust to stick, which lets the vacuum suck up fine dust in crevices and other areas.
Dyson says its new vacuum can clean up for 26 minutes straight depending on how often the user stops and starts, CNET reported. It can also continuously suck up debris for 16 minutes, or for 20 minutes with the roller head removed. The roller head doesn't work with older vacuum models.
The Asia launch follows a month after the Fluffy made its debut in Japan. A demonstration was held for the vacuum in Singapore, where it was shown to perform better than other handheld cordless vacuums and more powerful corded vacuums.
Dyson is making the Fluffy available in Asia for S$999 ($799) and plans to release it in Singapore in mid-November, CNET reported.
The new vacuum cleaner is set to debut in other Asian countries like Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand, China and the Philippines, and Dyson is looking to make it available in other regions as well.
