UFC President Dana White announced Wednesday that Vitor Belfort will take on middleweight champion Chris Weidman in the main event of UFC 184 in February.
The fight was confirmed on Instagram following Belfort's tweet in Portuguese saying that he will challenge Weidman for the title at the event, according to Yahoo! Sports. The two were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 181 on Dec. 6th, but the bout was postponed after Weidman broke his left hand during training in September.
Another announcement made for UFC 184 was the addition of women's bantamweight Ronda Rousey's title defense against Cat Zingano as the co-main event. Rousey vs. Zingano was originally supposed to take place at UFC 182 on Jan. 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Weidman currently holds a 12-0 record in MMA (8-0 in the UFC), and Belfort is 24-10 in MMA, having won 13 out of his 19 fights in UFC, MMAjunkie reported. Both Rousey and Zingano are undefeated in MMA, with Rousey having won 10 fights (four in the UFC) and Zingano having won nine fights (two in the UFC).
UFC 184 will be held on Feb. 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on pay-per-view.
