Actor and star of popular comedies "The Mask," "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and "Bruce Almighty" Jim Carrey has finally sold his oceanfront home in Malibu, California for $13.4 million according to real estate website Zillow.
Carrey originally put the house up for sale in 2011 for $18 million. Although a $4 million price reduction seems like a lot, it's not too much considering that the actor bought the house in 2002 for $9.75 million.
So he's still making a decent profit off of the sale. The sale comes as great news for the actor, who will co-star in this summer's film "Kick-Ass 2" as Colonel Stars and Stripes.
The house was on the market for a long time and Carrey was forced to slash its price several times. At one point, it was even off the market when he was having trouble selling it in December of 2011. He put it back on the market in June of 2012.
There is no word yet on who the new owner of the house is but he or she will not be moving into just any ocean view house in Malibu. OMG Yahoo reports the house is located in the gated enclave of Malibu Colony. Other celebrities who live in the neighborhood include Leonardo DiCaprio, Judd Apatow and his wife Leslie Mann, actress Laura Dern and tennis great John McEnroe.
The home includes three bedrooms and four bathrooms. It is 2,866 square feet with a lot of glass to show off the view of the ocean. There are multiple outdoor decks, a hot tub, stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, a couple fireplaces and an outdoor shower.
Below is the trailer for Jim Carrey's latest role in "Kick-Ass 2" which is due to come out later this summer. The trailer contains explicit language and violence and might not be safe for work.
