The Oklahoma City Thunder play the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. Tipoff is at 10:30 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream below.
Oklahoma City was blown out Wednesday night by the Portland Trail Blazers, despite Russell Westbrook's 38 points. The loss showed the Thunder's glaring deficit with Kevin Durant sidelined by injury: outside of Westbrook and Durant, the team has no scorers. Although the Thunder lost 106-89, Westbrook believes the team just needs to make a few adjustments.
"We put ourselves in a position to win the game but we don't take more victories around here and never will," he said, via ESPN. "We just gotta find a way to close the game out better."
Los Angeles, meanwhile, opens their season Thursday night with great expectations on their shoulders. Now with a full season under coach Doc Rivers under their belts, many see the Clippers as headed to the Western Conference finals. In addition to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, the Clippers have DeAndre Jordan, whom Rivers wants to see helped out.
"We need people to help him, you know what I mean? We've got to join in," Rivers told the team website. "D.J. is fantastic in what he's doing on the glass, offensive and defensive glass. He's been fantastic. We've all got to pitch in and help him. It's not just the bigs, the guards, too."
Thursday also marks the Clippers first game under new owner Steve Ballmer, who replaced the ousted Donald Sterling in the summer.
"It's been really good," Rivers said of his relationship with Ballmer. "He's given me a lot of room. He's allowed us to do basically anything we wanted within reason."
