"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" could be returning to the small screen - this time starring Sugar Bear and Uncle Poodle.
It's been a week since TLC announced the show's cancellation following reports that star Mama June was romantically involved with a sex offender, but a new online petition, found on Change.org, is demanding a spin-off series starring Sugar Bear and Uncle Poodle.
"Giving Sugar bear and poodle their own show will keep the show going and not allow other stars in the show to be punished for one cast member's actions," the petition reads.
It continued, "Sugar bear has gone above and beyond expectations of any man and father in raising not only his child but others as well, he was publically humiliated continuously by the cast member which caused the Honey Boo Boo show to become canceled. Fans of the show wish to see a spin off show for Sugar bear and Poodle. TLC, give the public what they want."
As of Friday, the petition has received 500 signatures. Fans also created a Facebook page titled, "Make TLC Keep Honey Boo Boo," in hopes of reinstating the reality series.
Uncle Poodle, whose given name is Lee Thompson, took to Facebook to also hinted at a possible return to TV, writing, "Hey guys I know this comes to a really big shock to y'all about the show being canceled. But me and Alan are staying out of it. We have our own life to live.
"It was a fun road of filming but hope to keep our fans and will stay on here and talk to all. But me and Alan will always post on here and keep in touch. Hell maybe y'all will see us on TV," Thompson wrote, according to Venture Capital Post.
The series was cancelled after reports suggested that Mama June returned to her ex-boyfriend Mark McDaniel, after separating from husband Sugar Bear. Us Weekly reported that the couple's eldest daughter Anna Cardwell claims she was molested by McDaniel as a child.
"The statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue," Mama Junes said, as quoted by ABCNews. "I would not ever, ever, ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years and don't want to see that person."
