Brittany Maynard Won't End Her Life on November 1, Says She Will 'Still Laugh and Smile With My Family' (VIDEO)

In April, Brittany Maynard, the young woman with terminal brain cancer, was given six months or less to live. She decided to end her own life on Nov. 1, after celebrating her husband's birthday on Oct. 30.

Maynard has since decided to hold off on that decision.

"I still feel good enough, and I still have enough joy, and I still laugh and smile with my family and friends enough that it doesn't seem like the right time right now," Maynard explained in the video.

"It will come, because I feel myself getting sicker," she said. "It's happening each week ... The worst thing that could happen to me is that I wait too long because I'm trying to seize each day."

Maynard said her dream would be to survive her illness, but she knows that can't happen. She hopes her mother gets through the loss of her only child and that her husband one day gets to be a father. The 29-year-old says her only reason for going public is that she hopes all will one day have the right to die with dignity.
