Two Steves helped found the Apple empire.
Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs and Seth Rogen will play Steve Wozniak in the upcoming Jobs biopic, according to Variety.
Aaron Sorkin adapted the "Steve Jobs" authorized biography by Walter Isaacson. The screenwriter confirmed Bale's casting, which didn't require an audition by "The Dark Knight" star, in an interview with Bloomberg Television last week.
"Well, there was a meeting," Sorkin said. "We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Chris Bale."
Sorkin hesitated to classify the film as a "biopic" while speaking at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. "He's a fascinating guy surrounded by fascinating people, and he had very interesting relationships with the people in his life," Sorkin said.
The "fascinating" Jobs will have much to say, as Sorkin tends to squeeze as many words as he can into a script without making the length of the movie too long. The upcoming feature, directed by Danny Boyle, won't be any different.
"[Bale] has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined," Sorkin told Bloomberg Television. "There isn't a scene or a frame that he's not in. So it's an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it."
Scott Rudin will produce with Film 360's Guymon Casady and Mark Gordon. Filming will begin in a couple months, but Sony Pictures has yet to set a release date.
Josh Gad played the role of Wozniak in the previous Steve Jobs biopic, "Jobs," opposite Ashton Kutcher who starred in the title role.
Rogen, who hasn't done much dramatic acting, will next star in the comedy "The Interview" with James Franco. The movie premieres on Christmas Day.
Bale will next star in "Exodus: Gods and Kings," out on Dec. 12.
