Kobe Bryant is back, but the Lakers are still 0-2 to start the season. He's provided the only steady source of offense for the purple-and-gold, averaging 25 points over the last two games, but is 17 of 42 from the field. Things haven't been any easier for the Lakers after losing rookie Julius Randle for the season in their opener, and Nick Young - arguably the only other source of offense for the Lakers - is still sidelined as he recovers from surgery on his finger.

"I told them we have to hang in there and stay together as a team," said coach Byron Scott, via ESPN. "It is only two games."

The Clippers, meanwhile, are 1-0 after defeating an undermanned Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. Many expect this Clippers team to reach the conference finals, but the team's 93-90 win against a team without Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook raised questions.

Like the Lakers, the Clippers struggled to generate offense. With their shots not falling, Doc River's team had to rely on defense to get the win.

"We had to defend in order to win the game," Chris Paul said. "That's what great teams are built off of, defense and rebounding."

Rivers saw at least one positive in the team's win.

"What I was proud of, they kept fighting defensively," he said. "I don't know that we win this game last year."
