Portland is 1-1 after their 103-94 loss on Friday to the Sacramento Kings. LaMarcus Aldridge record a team-high 22 points - pushing his season average to 24.5 points per game - and four rebounds, and Damian Lillard added 20 points.

The loss, though, served as a reminder to Portland that nothing is a given.

"We can't be satisfied because we had a good season last year," said Nicolas Batum who scored seven points, via ESPN. "People want to beat us now. So if we want to be in the same position as last year we've got to come out and be strong and be a good team."

Golden State, meanwhile, is 2-0 after blowing out Sacramento and the Los Angeles Lakers. With the season just kicking into gear, the Warriors now have at least one thing less to worry about: the future of Klay Thompson, who agreed to a four-year extension on Friday.

"It's hard for me to express how excited and happy I am to know that I will be playing in front of the best fans in the NBA for a long time," Thompson told the team website. "This team, under this ownership group and with this collection of players, has an incredibly bright future. I could not ask for a better situation and am extremely thankful."

The Warriors' long-term investment in Thompson immediately paid off Saturday, when he scored 41 points in the team's 127-104 blowout of the Lakers.
