Apple's rumored iPad Pro will not be as big as it was assumed earlier with new sources confirming the upcoming tablet to be 12.2 inches.
If you have been imagining the rumored iPad Pro to measure 12.9 inches diagonally, there is a good chance you might be disappointed. A report by a Japanese Apple-following blog, MacOtakara, indicates a change in the speculations surrounding the rumored iPad Pro device. If true, the upcoming Apple iPad widely expected to sport a 12.9 megapixel screen, will shrink down to 12.2 inches. The blog also reported various changes in the upcoming tablet by Apple, which were resonated by Mac Rumors and 9to5Mac.
The 12.9 inches display for the iPad Pro was first speculated by various publications including the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, ET Times and others. But with a new report talking about a daring change, it is likely that Apple is going after Microsoft's popular Surface Pro 3. Besides a smaller screen size, the Japanese website also claims that the new iPad will feature a landscape orientation instead of portrait mode, a default presence in iPads since 2010,9to5Mac reported.
The report also claims that the device won't be quite as thin as the iPad Air 2 at 6.1mm. But it will range between iPhone 6's 6.9mm and iPhone 6 Plus' 7.1mm, putting it right at the 7mm mark.
The iPad Pro, which is also referred to as iPad Plus, is said to feature two stereo speakers and microphones on both the top and bottom edges of the device. This is expected to boost the audio experience on the upcoming iPad, Mac Rumors reported.
Other leaked features include iSight camera, Lightning connector and the Touch ID home button position, which will remain unchanged. The exact availability details on the rumored iPad are unclear but the Cupertino tech giant is expected to start mass production of the tablet in December. But a report last month said that the huge demand for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has resulted in a delay, pushing the device's launch to somewhere in the third quarter next year.
