Tempers can, and often do, flare at all levels and in every arena of sport.
Whether you're a football coach or a golf caddy, a hockey goalie or a tennis champion, it's almost certain that at some point in your career you'll upset, or be upset by someone, or something - a disputed call, an agitating opponent - any number of possible scenarios abound. Rarely however, does this anger build to the point where an all-out brawl occurs.
But, that's exactly what happened last night after NASCAR's AAA Texas 500 and Texas Motor Speedway, according to Kenny Bruce of NASCAR.com.
Check out the video below...
"Gordon, upset after contact between the two during the first of two attempts at a green, white, checkered finish, pulled his car alongside Keselowski's on pit road after the event, quickly climbed out and attempted to confront the Team Penske driver," Bruce reported.
"Crewmembers of the two teams were already pushing and shoving each other as Gordon approached Keselowski. The exchange between the two drivers quickly escalated into a physical confrontation that eventually involved crewmen from both teams, as well as members of other organizations, including driver Kevin Harvick."
Gordon and Keselowski apparently both suffered cuts to their faces during the brawl.
"It's his disregard for what's going on out there," Gordon said of Keselowski afterward, per Bruce. "He does things that force his team to have to defend him like that. I mean it's a shame. It's a real shame, you know?
"He made an over-aggressive move. Those moves are fine if you've got a slamming, banging race. But he cut my left rear tire and that was it for me."
Keselowski, the 2012 series champion who failed to make the Chase last year, said his previous season's poor performance was not acceptable.
"I'm here to win races for (team owner) Roger Penske and for my team.
"That means when there's a gap (on the track), I have to take it. If it requires a tiny bit of rubbing, that's OK. Plenty of times where I got rubbed."
