We've met Elena and hated Katherine, so now its time to meet another doppelganger from "The Originals" history.
In an upcoming episode of CW's "The Originals," actress Nina Dobrev will be leaving Mystic Falls behind and is heading to the New Orleans as Tatia, a character who was introduced during season three of 'TVD' and is known as the vampire who stole the hearts of Klaus [Joseph Morgan] and Elijah [Daniel Gillies].
So, how will Dobrev's new character shake things up on the spin-off series?
Executive producer Michael Narducci told E! Online that Tatia plays a major role in Elijah's past. Elijah's mother Ester will make her son relive the moment that Tatia was murdered in an attempt to fix her family and convince them that being a vampire is a curse.
"In the last episode, she got her hands on Elijah in this brilliant trap that she set," Narducci said. "Poor Oliver [Chase Coleman] got snatched up as well and we'll find out what happens to him in the next episode, but Elijah is now trapped and confronted by his mother. She needs to make a case for why being a vampire is the worst thing."
"To convince him of this, she needs to confront him with the very thing that is his -his kryptonite," Narducci added. "What is the thing about Elijah we've always said is his weakness? He doesn't like other vampires. Eljiah hates being a vampire and his defense mechanism is to dress it up and have a code of honor. That's his blind spot, the thing about him that he has buried away."
In the Originals' mythology, Tatia was murdered by Ester in order to make Klaus' werewolf side dormant. She is attempting to convince her children to live out the rest of their lives as humans.
"Esther is attacking that and making him confront that to destroy him and break him down completely to build him back up," Narducci added.
"The Originals" air Mondays at 8 p.m. on the CW Network.
