Kurt Cobain's Mixtape 'Montage of Heck' Surfaces Online

Kurt Cobain's 1988 mix tape has come to life recently online, delivering a fresh and different look into the late artist's offbeat, unique taste in music, Billboard reported on Monday.

A home 4-track player recorded "Montage of Heck," incorporating Cobain's music collection, band demos and sampling sounds he recorded or made.

The album is a trendy and popular college radio station meets late-night entertainment, the LA Times said. The tape is broken up into two versions, a mono version that's roughly 8 minutes, and a 36 minute version. It's seen a revival in recent days, but the album has been available online for some time.

Cobain's particulars, Black Sabbath and the Velvet Underground, are featured on the mix along with genre-defying list of artists; Cher and the Partridge Family and Mike Love of the Beach Boys speaking on meditation.
