Samsung Galaxy Note Edge to Hit US Market November 14

Samsung's new take on phablets, the Galaxy Note Edge, is finally arriving in the U.S. market starting November 14.

The world's biggest smartphone making company, Samsung, announced Monday that its coveted Galaxy Note Edge will be available in the U.S. starting Nov. 14. The niche handset with a unique design will be available with all the major carriers in the country for top dollars. Based on the carrier you choose, the price of the device will vary.

Soon after Samsung announced the release date for its Galaxy Note Edge, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile confirmed the availability on their respective networks. In an official press release Monday, AT&T said the new high-end phablet will be available for $946 without a contract and subsidizing it will bring down the cost to $400 with a two-year contract. The second largest wireless carrier in the U.S. also said the Note Edge can be bought with zero down under AT&T Next program and one can pay $39.42 per month for 18 months or $47.30 per month for 12 months. AT&T is expected to bring the device to its nationwide retail stores one week ahead of the official release, on Nov. 7.

Sprint and T-Mobile also confirmed the handset's availability starting Nov. 14. According to Sprint, the Galaxy Note Edge will be available under its Easy Pay plan that allows customers to pick up the handset with zero down but 24 monthly installments of $35, totaling to $840, excluding taxes.

T-Mobile offers a similar monthly installment plan with zero down and 24 installments of $36.25. The cost of the Galaxy Note Edge on T-Mo's network adds up to $870, ex-taxes.

If the price seems too high for the device, the specs and features should justify Samsung's pricing model.

Samsung unveiled its high-end Galaxy Note Edge in September featuring a one-sided wraparound display. Besides the unique design, the phablet comes with premium features. The 5.6-inch display sports a Quad HD resolution and the curved display gives easy access to functions like launching camera, video, S Note, a ticker board, quick tools, night clock, wallpaper changer, news ticker, S health data, weather reports, stopwatch, timer, ruler and lot more. The handset carries fingerprint scanning technology, heart rate monitor among other major specs included in the Galaxy Note 4 smartphone.
