Joss Whedon may have used a few stern words to address actor Idris Elba’s big “Avengers: Age of Ultron” slip.
During an interview with Vulture, Whedon explained when you are a part of large-scale productions it is unrealistic to expect slip-ups not to happen.
However, the director admitted he had choice words for Elba after he told the world he and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) are set to appear in the second “Avengers” installment.
“Um, should he receive an email from me, there might be an attitude of scold,” Whedon teased to Vulture.
He added, “Yeah, when you have a cast of 19,000 people, inevitably, once every month, you pick up [a story] and you're like, ‘Awww.’”
Elba recently confirmed to the Telegraph his involvement with the production as Heimdall from Asgar.
“I’m in Avengers,” he said. “And I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth [who plays Thor] and Tom Hiddleston [Loki], and they’re like, [whispers] – ‘Aren’t you [meant to be] in Ibiza?’ ”
The quote was in reference to his hectic work schedule, which pulls him in many directions. Elba may not have realized the slip when it happened as the actor has only appeared in the “Thor” movies.
Still, Whedon is excited for the release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The director is currently enjoying the post-production editing process.
“Well, at this point, I'm still trying to connect those bananas and turn them into a bunch,” he told Vulture. “Yeah, I don't think that banana metaphor is going to go very far [laughs], but it's really fun, honestly. Even while I'm looking at ways in which I messed up, it's fun taking everything and connecting it, finding a way to make something more emotional or funnier or cooler, so I love the work.”
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” will be released to theaters on May 1, 2015.
