Jawbone introduced two new additions to its fitness tracker collection Wednesday, the low-end Up Move and the advanced Up3.
The Up3 wristband is designed to improve the way fitness data is collected, and is Jawbone's most advanced tracker to date, according to The Verge. The device earns this title with its sensors designed to measure the user's temperature and factors of "bioimpedence" like hydration levels and heart rate.
Jawbone also made sure to give the Up3 an accelerometer that measures movement. Smart Coach functionality gives the band the ability to identify what kind of exercise or sport the user has participated in.
The device can also determine how hydrated the user is, when he/she was in REM sleep, and how well users sleep on days when they play sports. With this information, Up3 will tell the user to drink water after activities or to get some extra sleep after exercising in the morning.
The Up Move is the most recent low-cost fitness band to enter the market, following others like the Misfit Flash, CNET reported. This device works similar to the Flash, as well as the Misfit Shine, in that progress is shown by clicking the center of the band.
While the Move is water-resistant, it is not designed for you to wear while swimming. Its replaceable battery allows you to use the tracker for six months straight on a single charge.
The Move also comes with a clip or a strap that lets you wear on it on belt or in your pocket, The Verge reported. The ability to track activity and sleep is featured in the band, as is the Smart Coach included in the Up3.
The Up3 will be available in the U.S. sometime this year for $179.99, and you will be able get the Up Move this month for $49.99.
