Robert Downey Jr. is the proud papa of a new baby girl.
The "Iron Man" actor and his wife Susan welcomed their second child, a daughter, People Magazine reported. The newborn joins the couple's two-year-old son Exton and the actor's 21-year-old son Indio from a previous marriage.
The actor also took to Twitter to announce the arrival of his daughter, writing, "Girl Joy!! Avri Roel Downey, 7lbs, 20 in., 3:22 a.m. 11-4-14... Pretty like mama, and dimples like my uncle Jim!"
Last week, the actor paid tribute to his pregnant wife of nine years during his acceptance speech for the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards.
"It's just the uncertainty of how nowadays you have all these things where you think you have much more of an understanding of what you're going to get," Downey said. "And then this little soul lets herself be known to you, and it's just like: You don't know anything. It's great!"
He added, "How is she still so darn pretty and functional and mood-stable? The second pregnancy has been extraordinarily tough for me. Self-prescribed mandatory bed rest was of some benefit. At least my milk is finally coming in."
Downey announced that his wife was pregnant with his third child via Twitter and Facebook, writing, "I don't know if it's a man's world, but I'm certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce are expecting a baby. Girl."
"Yo. Susan. Me. Baby. Girl. November. Scorpio?" he tweeted at the time.
