Rumors of Brock Lesnar's return to MMA continue, this time with WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross discussing the possible return on his weekly podcast "The Ross Report."
Good Ol' J.R. said he doesn't believe the former UFC heavyweight champion will sign a new contract with WWE under the same stipulations as his current one, which is quickly reaching its end, according to MMA News.
"And if that's the case, then why would Brock headline Wrestlemania 31?" he said. "Especially if word gets out- and it will- that he's leaving the company."
J.R. added that he isn't sure what Lesnar wants to do when he's done with the WWE, whether that's going back to MMA or just hunting and spending time with his family.
"Because he could be booked in a real favorable situation there if UFC wants to do that, and if he wanted to fight, and I have been told that he still has the itch to get back in the Octagon," he said. "Whether it's true or not, it's just what I've heard."
The discussion ended with J.R. saying that no matter what decision Lesnar makes, "interesting days lay ahead," for him, MMA News reported.
"He's got a great deal there in WWE, but he does need to work more dates so that WWE can maximize the potential of Brock Lesnar," Ross said. "I would say interesting days lay ahead - it would seem that way - for both WWE and Brock, and their pending contractual negotiations, which I would think you'd want to have finalized long before Wrestlemania 31."
Ross is now working as an announcer for MMA, having made his MMA commentating debut recently at BattleGrounds MMA. He hinted in his podcast at possibly doing commentary for more MMA events in the future.
