Carrie Underwood Expecting a Boy

Carrie Underwood chose the CMAs to strategically reveal the sex of her baby. Even though it wasn't Carrie, 31, who "spilled" the news, it was evident that she and her CMA co-host Brad Paisley had planned the entire saga, USA Today reports.

In the beginning, Paisley begged her to tell him the baby's sex and after she did, he said: "I'm so happy I know something y'all don't. Suck it, TMZ!"

Sometime later, according to CMT.com, when Underwood and Paisley were talking about Garth Brooks' comeback, the 42-year-old country singer pointed at his co-host's baby bump and suggested she and her husband Mike Fisher could name the baby "Garth".

"Hey, we could name him Garth!"

Underwood, pretending to be annoyed at the revelation, said: "What are you doing?! What is wrong with you?! You've got to be kidding me. Well, you kept that secret for a whole two minutes."

The audience cheered at the news.

Paisley also tweeted about the news.

Underwood and her former Ottawa Senators and now Nashville Predators hockey player husband Mike Fisher met at one of her concerts in late 2008. The couple got married in July 2010 and on September 1, 2014 announced that they were expecting their first child together. Underwood is due to deliver in spring.

Underwood said that she is still trying to adjust to the pregnancy.

"It's still kind of weird, to be honest," Underwood said referring to her impending motherhood on the "Today Show", the Huffington Post reports. "Sometimes I'll be with my husband and it's like, 'I'm gonna be a mom. You're gonna be a dad. Is this real life?'"
