Buffalo Bills' coach Doug Marrone noted after Wednesday's practice, in which rookie receiver Sammy Watkins injured his groin, that the first-year pass catcher could miss some time.
"He could play, or he could be out for two to three weeks. I mean, who knows," Marrone said. "I don't know. I have no information other than that he didn't finish practice."
However, the injury is not considered serious, and Watkins should be good to go against the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and the Associated Press.
"A person familiar with the diagnosis has told The Associated Press that Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Sammy Watkins' groin injury won't prevent him from playing against Kansas City on Sunday," wrote the AP's John Wawrow.
"The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because coach Doug Marrone declined to provide details of the injury after Watkins was hurt in practice on Wednesday. The person said Watkins is fine and ready to go."
If no setbacks occur, Watkins is a must-start in all fantasy formats, even against Kansas City's tough pass defense. The rookie receiver has 38 catches for 590 yards and five touchdowns in eight games this season.
Watkins had back-to-back games with over 20 fantasy points before Buffalo's Week 9 bye. New quarterback Kyle Orton has targeted Watkins an average of almost nine times a game since taking over as the starter in Week 5.
