Alexander Wang's long-anticipated H&M collection finally arrived in stores on Thursday, summoning a throng of shoppers in hot pursuit of a chance to own a piece of the designer label.
Inside H&M's Manhattan location on 34th Street, rain-drenched customers lined up outside a barricaded section on the second floor that housed Wang's athletic-inspired collection. Color-coded wristbands were handed out indicating what time shoppers were allowed to enter the section for only 15 minutes intervals.
But others felt some of the raincoats, sweaters, boots, accessories and other items from the Wang line were a bit lacking in oomph.
"Some of them are too plain, some of them are too pricey," Culbreth said. "But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
