Buy a foreclosed home and get a dead body for free.
William Wilson purchased a home at auction in Cape Coral, FL for $96,000, and when he went to do some yard work on Tuesday, he discovered a decaying body in the main bedroom, The Blaze reported.
"You couldn't tell who it was," Wilson said. "You couldn't tell if it was a male or a female ... it's disappointing and a sad thing that nobody cared enough to check."
He added that the house was a mess, like someone was in the process of moving out, with pictures of children still on the fridge. There was also a pile of excrement and a bird cage on the living room floor, the Daily Mail reported.
Neighbors say they hadn't seen or heard from the previous owner - an older woman from Miami named CarmenGarcia-Viso- in years and police are investigating the find. According to authorities, taxes on the home hadn't been paid in three years and the last active postal service was in late 2011.
Neighbor Gary Oben Jr. said the woman was nice, but kept mostly to herself. He only saw her when she went to water her lawn or collect the mail.
"I had a hunch," Oben said. "Either it was a grow house or there was a dead lady in there."
